A presentation and ceremonial donation of the facsimile Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna to the institutions of culture, science and education of Vitebsk region took place on 23 November.
The event was hosted by the V.I. Lenin Vitebsk Regional Library, as part of the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference on Vitebsk Region, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing.
The international scientific and publishing project on the reconstruction of the Belarusian first printer’s book heritage has been implemented this year by the National Library of Belarus and BelVEB Bank to become the highlight of jubilee events in Belarus and abroad.
In Vitebsk this project was presented by Alexander Susha, the deputy director for research and publishing of the National Library of Belarus.
The event was attended by the head of the main department for ideological work, culture and youth affairs of Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, Gennady Egorov, directors and specialists of libraries of Vitebsk region, teachers, students and regular readers of Vitebsk libraries.
