On May 24-25, 2007, Roman Motulsky, the Director of the National Library of Belarus took part in the International scientific conference "Slavonic word and culture in the context of the world development", organized by V.I.Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, and in the round table "Library as a component of viability of the state" of representatives of the biggest libraries of Ukraine and Belarus, where he answered to Ukrainian librarians' questions.
During the conference R. Motulsky showed an electronic presentation of the National Library of Belarus. At the end of the conference R. Motulsky and V. Velichko, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Ukraine opened two guest book exhibitions: ’The Diamonds of Belarusian Written Language’ , dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Belarusian classical writers Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas, and ’The National Library of Belarus’, timed to the 85th anniversary of the NLB.
Besides, the Director of the National Library of Belarus took part in the opening of the exhibition ’Russia - New Archaeological Discoveries’ at the Archaeological Museum of the Institute of Archaeology at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
