On March 26th at the National Library of Belarus took place the presentation of the academic edition “Architecture of Belarus: essays on evolution in the East Slavonic and European contest”.


This edition is the fundamental research of K. Krapiva Institute of Fine Arts, Ethnography and Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, which presents the analysis of monuments of Belarusian architecture in the context of the development of architectural culture of Eastern Slavs and European peoples. Each volume comprises the analysis of Belarusian architecture from the IX to the early XXI cc.

Acting Director of the National Library of Belarus Tatiana Kuzminich and Director of K. Krapiva Institute of Fine Arts, Ethnography and Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Lokotko opened the event. Authors of the edition and representatives of K. Krapiva Institute of Fine Arts, Ethnography and Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the ”Belaruskaya Navuka” publishing house, the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus participated in the presentation.

Within the framework of the event, a subject exhibition-review from the collections of the National Library of Belarus was presented to the audience attention. A string quartet of the Belarusian State Academy of Music performed musical compositions.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
