On May 19, the Labyrinth Gallery hosted the last lecture-concert of this season, prepared by participants of the amateur music salon "World of Classical Music".
The theme of the concert was a surprisingly bright, lyrical and dynamic at the same time, filled with emotions, nostalgia and memories, the musical world of cinematography.
The rich musical component, as always, pleased the listeners. Piano and violin works have traditionally been played in the salon's concerts, but the saxophone performances and vocal numbers were a real surprise.
Margarita Rukevich, the presenter and inspirer of the concerts and lectures, prepared information summaries rich in incredibly interesting facts and stories from the world of film music, the life and work of film directors, introduced the audience to the history of the origin of sound cinema, told how the musical accompaniment of the film arose, what role music plays in the creation of the film.
Familiar melodies were played – starting from Chaplin's films and ending with modern movie masterpieces, many of which became such thanks to memorable soundtracks: "Irony of Fate, or With a light steam!", "Mary Poppins, goodbye", "Tehran-43", "Guest from the Future", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Schindler's List".
