The cultural educational event “Master of Belarusian word – Kandrat Krapiva”: to the 120th anniversary of the classicist of the Belarusian literature, poet, playwright, fable writer and translator.


The event will take place in the framework of the World Book and Copyright Day and the World Intellectual Property Day.

The National Library of Belarus will present the electronic edition Верай і праўдай прайшоў праз эпоху, dedicated to the life and work of K. Krapiva. It presents the bibliography of diverse creative work of Krapiva and literature, dedicated to his life and work, digitalized first lifetime editions of his works and fragments of theatrical pieces on his plays, iconic documents and interesting facts.

Visitors will be able to hear the voice of K. Krapiva from the archive of the Belteleradiocompany, poet’s fables performed by students of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.

At the end of the event, the agreement between the National Library of Belarus and Elena Igorevna Atrahovich, keeper of the creative heritage of K. Krapiva, on giving rights to use classicist’s works in the framework of the electronic edition will be signed.

Guests will be able to get acquainted with works of K. Krapiva and his scientific editions, materials about life and work of the National writer from funds of the National Library of Belarus and the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus, authentic copies of graphic works of the artist and illustrator Anatoly Aleksandrovich to writer’s works.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
