Olga Kardash, the librarian of the special collections department, became the winner of the “Poetry” nomination.


The festive awarding of winners of the International literary contest “Happiness is reached only on the way…”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Russian poetry genius Nikolai Rubtsov, took place in the National Library on June 30.

The military art studio of writers of the Cultural centre of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Archangelsk Institute of management initiated the contest. Works were presented in the following nominations: poetry, prose, publicism, and scientific and research work.

“The International literary contest has already happened 4 years, its aim is the search and support of talented authors, – told the vice-principal on the international, interregional public relations of the Institute of management Mikhail Sobolev. – Last year was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, and this year to the anniversary Nikolai Rubtsov”.

It’s pleasant to notice, that it’s the first time when employees of the National Library of Belarus participated in the contest and showed good results. We sincerely congratulate Olga Kardash on the winning; we wish her sound health, creative inspiration and success in literature!

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
