On 29 November, at 3 p.m., a ceremony of book donation will be held at the gallery Labyrinth. The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Minsk will present an edition The Living Faith. Vetka to Belarusian libraries.

The charitable event is prepared by the National Library of Belarus, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Minsk and the publishing house The Belarusian Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovlka.

The book-photoalbum The Living Faith. Vetka of series Encyclopedia of Rarities is about the art and culture of a unique region situated in the southwest of Belarus – the Old Believers’ Vetka – a historical center of the Russian Orthodox schism of the 17th–18th centuries.

The edition features chapters about local iconography, gilded carving, embroidery, the art of goldsmiths and molding, and also a brief historical review. This is a unique book which texts and illustrations show a close and living interconnection of epochs – the present and the old-time piety.

During the event a book donation ceremony will be held. Republican and regional libraries of Belarus as well as departmental libraries of educational and cultural institutions will receive as a gift the book The Living Faith. Vetka.
