The National Library of Belarus, with the support of the EIFL International Consortium of Libraries and Wiley Publishing House, hosted a webinar on the publication of scientific articles in international journals in the open access mode on April 19.
At the event, Mr Viachaslau Brychkouski, Head of the Innovative Development of Library and Information Processes Sector of the National Library of Belarus presented current trends and prospects for the development of the open access initiative and stressed the advantages of using open access resources for Belarusian scientists.
Ms Romy Beard, Head of the Licensing Program for Electronic Information Resources of the EIFL Consortium, spoke about the agreements signed with leading scientific publishers, which stipulate the possibility of cancelling or reducing fees for authors from Belarus for preparing articles (APC) for publication in open access mode.
Ms Natalia Kalitseva, Wiley's Client Relations Manager, gave practical advice on choosing a journal for publication, preparing an article and submitting it to the editorial office of the journal.
The online meeting was attended by scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, representatives of higher education institutions of our country and national scientific and practical centres.
The National Library invites scientific organizations, publishing houses, libraries and information centres to cooperate in the development of the open access initiative in Belarus.
