The exhibition "Quotes Shop" opened on November 13 in the library. The exhibition is organized by the National Library of Belarus and the Polish Institute in Minsk.
At the exhibition, the visitors will see 30 quotes by famous Poles in a graphic design. The author of the idea and designer Darya Meltsazhevich creates portraits of personalities who have contributed to culture and art. The images, supplemented with quotes, short and capacious, intrigue and convince the reader to get acquainted with the works of their authors.
Initially prints were printed on T-shirts and bags and sold over the Internet. Later the "Quotes Shop" appeared physically in the city of Poznan. At the opening of the exhibition a part of the souvenirs from the Polish shop was represented.
The art exposition included also a book exhibition from the collection of the National Library of Belarus: works by Polish authors can be seen both in the original and in translation into Belarusian or Russian.
The Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky shared his thoughts on the role of literature in the modern world, and also thanked the Polish Institute for its cooperation and wished creative success to the "Quotes Shop" project.
The Director of the Polish Institute in Minsk Cezary Karpiński told about the "Month of Polish Culture" festival, organized together with Belarusian partners. During November, a number of different-format events will be held in the capital: presentations of books, meetings with Polish writers and their Belarusian translators, a literary and musical project, including a literary and art exhibition the "Quotes Shop".
Daria Meltsazhevich thanked the National Library of Belarus for cooperation. The designer noted that the project is aimed to bring people closer to the world of culture and art, and also to make readers more sensitive to the word.
The exhibition will last until February 1, 2019.
The end date of the exhibition can be changed.
