On 21 May, the opening of the exhibition of works created by artist Anatoly Pavlyga was held in the gallery Panorama.
36 landscapes are on display.
Pavlyga’s main theme is landscapes of his native land. He sought to display changeable moods of nature and show his own perception of his country’s beauty.
Daughter of the artist Tatiana Pavlyga and Director of the art gallery "Vilnius" Elena Sukhodola spoke in public at the event.
Anatoly Pavlyga was born on 25 July, 1934 in the village of Khotkovo in Rosson District, Vitebsk Region.
In 1965, he graduated from the Graphic Arts Department of the Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute. His teachers were well-known Belarusian artists Valentin Dezhits, Vasily Goncharov, Gregory Klikushin. In his life A. Pavlyga worked as a teacher of painting and drawing at Rosson district schools and as an inspector of education. In 1994, he retired and devoted himself to creativity. He lived in Bulavki, a village in Polotsk District, Vitebsk Region.
Anatoly Pavlyga died on 18 October, 2012. However, he continues to live in his works.
