On 25 September, the opening of Vitaly Rakovich’s photo exhibition "The Colored Belarus" was held in the gallery "Rakurs" (2nd floor).

The author works in the style of neo photography where a photo from a camera is the only first base in the creation of the finished work of art. The presented exhibition features about 40 photos made by Vitaly Rakovich. These pieces of art amaze and admire the audience with their purity and brightness of colors.

In the welcoming speech First Deputy Director for User Service and Ideology Elena Dolgopolova stressed that the Library had introduced its users to Vitaly Rakovich’s works for the second time. Just, in 2012, there had been organized the author’s exhibition “The brightness of Belarusian temples” which had had a great success among the audience”.

Belarus has always been considered for the author to be the most interesting and favorite place for travelling and creative work. Being in different trips in the various parts of the former USSR, he constantly persuads that each place is attractive in its own way, but leaving for Belarus he feels some warmth, as it is unique, and to experience love in it is an integral part of our “I”. That’s why Vitaly Rakovich’s exhibition is not just the game with paints but it is also a declaration of love for our Motherland.

"The talent of Rakovich is that he finds such artistic techniques, which seem to touch the soul, turning photos into deep, but easy to read literary works," said about the author of the exhibition his teacher and friend, Associate Professor of Journalistic Development of Institute for Parliamentary and Enterprise, photo artist Arkady Birilko.

Vitaly Rakovich has been dealing with photography since 1978: he has been taking the camera since childhood. However, he has been engaged in photography as a kind of fine arts since 2003 only, and a year later his first exhibition took place in Moscow. Since 2005, he has been a member of the national photo club "Minsk" (from 2013 to 2014 was its Chairman). Since 2008, Vitaly Rakovich has been a member of the Belarusian Union of Photographers and the Belarusian public association "Photography", since 2012 – a member of the administration of the Belarusian Union of Photographers.

The photo artist Vitaly Rakovich has more than thirty solo exhibitions. He has been an organizer, curator and participant of dozens joint exhibition photo projects. Vitaly Rakovich is a winner of many international and national photographic contests. His photos are kept in the collections of the National Library of Belarus, the Maxim Bogdanovich’s Literary Museum, the House of Belarus in Warsaw and the House of Belarus in Moscow, the Museum of Modern Fine Art in Minsk, as well as in private collections in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Abkhazia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany United States and Israel.
