Other news

Graphic and video materials reading room invites you to an exhibition “Belarusian engraving of the late 20th century”.

Engraving is an original artistic work. Every author’s imprint is as valuable as an oil painting. An artist’s soul and passions live there.

Frantsisk Skaryna, the Belarusian printing pioneer, scientist, humanist, and educator was one of the first Belarusian masters of engraving. The art of engraving attracts until now the attention of eminent artists. The exhibition acquaints visitors with the skill of modern Belarusian engravers: N. Poplavskaya, N. Schasnaya, V. Tkachuk, Y. Tyshkevich, M. Basalyga, P. Durchin, Y. Zaytsev, Y. Puschinsky, V. Providohin, and others.

At the exhibition are exposed about 80 engravings: linoleum engravings, lithographs, etchings, and wood engravings.
We invite to the exhibition all who are interested in this type of graphic and its history.

The exhibition is open from November 1, 2007 to December 1, 2007. The exhibition is located on the third floor, in graphic and video materials reading room.
