An exhibition "This Phenomenon, Pesniary" dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the VIA band Pesniary is held from August 22 to November 12 in the Music and Audiovisual documents reading room (305).

“Pesniary” is a vocal and instrumental band lead by Vladimir Mulyavin, created in Minsk in 1969 (the band members consider the day of September 1 to be their official birthday). The collective is known to a wide audience for the songs "Kasіu Jas Kanyushynu", "Belovezhskaya Pushcha", "Alexandryna", "Vologda" and many others.

A folk song was on the basis of the work of V. Muliavin and the Pesniary band. The musicians were able to combine Belarusian musical folklore and the poetry of the classics of national literature with elements of various musical directions. The ensemble's repertoire included songs based on poems by Y. Kupala, Y. Kolas, R. Borodulin, G. Buravkin, M. Bogdanovich and others.

The band often addressed to large musical forms. They staged two rock operas on the verses of Yanka Kupala. Among the concert programs there were “The Jolly Beggars” with lyrics by Robert Burns etc.

The multifaceted talent of singer, arranger, composer Vladimir Mulyavin, high level of performing skills of the band contributed to the creation of works that made a significant contribution not only to Belarusian pop music, but also to the treasury of world musical culture.

There are exposed note sheets including V. Muliavin’s collection “Belarus Is My Song”, records and CDs with collective records, articles and books about the work of the band and its leader (L. A. Krushinskaya "Vladimir Mulyavin. "Sertsam і dumamі... ": memoirs, interviews, studies", Y. Ivanov "Unknown photographs of Vladimir Mulyavin", etc.). Part of the exhibition is devoted to costumes of the band and the history of their creation.


The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.

On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
