The Tale of Bygone Years, an animation project, will be presented at the library, on 12 March.
The event organizers are the National Library of Belarus and the National Film Studio “Belarusfilm”.
The historical, cultural and educational project is a cycle of cartoons for children about the arms of Belarusian cities. The plots explain the meaning of the symbols depicted on the arms, as well as provide brief information about the history of cities. In an exciting form, the cartoons introduce to the history of Belarus in general and its regions in particular.
The author of the concept and the project manager is Igor Volchek. The team of domestic cartoon artists has been working on the project for many years. As a result, there is a micro-story about the arms of 36 cities of Belarus. Also, a separate cartoon about the coat of arms and the flag of the Republic of Belarus has been created. The symbols reflected on the arms are of very ancient origin. Each of them has its own tale connected with ancient legends, important historical events and facts, and the role of the city in the country’s history.
The presentation starts at 3 pm in the Educational hall (room 346).
