On May 8, the National Library of Belarus hosted a sports and patriotic action "Ready for victory!". The event was held as part of the celebration of Victory Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.
The action was organized by the National Library of Belarus and the Public Association "Kettlebell Marathon Federation".
The main purpose of the action is to pay tribute to the memory of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, who made an invaluable contribution to the common Victory, to demonstrate the strength of spirit and unlimited physical capabilities of the descendants of the Great Heroes of Belarus.
The guests of honor and judges were multiple champions and record holders: Vyacheslav Khoroneko, Viktor Matsur, Sergey Matskevich.
Belarusian athletes set 2 world records in the kettlebell marathon and 4 records in the Belarusian kettlebell press:
Evgeny Korobeynik performed 1,402 repetitions in the kettlebell push exercise in a long cycle with multiple changes of hands. The weight of the kettlebell is 16 kg.
Sergey Khurtai performed 1321 repetitions in the exercise pushing a kettlebell from the chest with multiple changes of arms. The weight of the kettlebell is 20 kg.
Yulia Prachkovskaya performed 34 presses simultaneously of two kettlebells weighing 20 kg each.
Vyacheslav Khoroneko performed 197 kettlebell presses weighing 24 kg in 5 minutes, which is 40 times higher than the achievements of another Belarusian athlete who set the previous record.
Viktor Matsur set 2 world records: a one-time kettlebell press of 80 kg with his left hand and squeezed a kettlebell weighing 70 kg 7 times.
