The staff of the National Library of Belarus congratulate honored cultural worker of the Republic of Belarus Galina Oleynik on her anniversary!
Galina Oleynik’s labor activity has been wholly devoted to the service of the book and the library. The main and the important part of her career G.N. Oleynik has dedicated to the National Library of Belarus. Her high professionalism, bright knowledge of the book, keen sense of all new and progressive have manifested during her work as a chief librarian, head of division, deputy director, and since 1990 and for more than 12 years – as a director of the main library of the country.
Her creative potential, brilliant managerial abilities, creative energy, keen intellect and will of a leader have manifested here in full measure. With her participation and under her direction, the image of the library as a national information center was swiftly changing, and its international standing strengthened. There was an active development of the automated library information system of the republic, creation of the united information infrastructure linking the libraries of all systems and departments, planning and construction of the new building of the National Library of Belarus.
As a leader, G.N. Oleynik combines a profound responsibility and self-exactingness with a tactful and careful attitude towards people. The harmony of her brilliant professional and personal merits has become the basis of her authority in the library community both in Belarus and abroad.
G.N. Oleynik has shown herself as a patient, sincere and friendly person during her public work at the Belarusian Fund of Culture, the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, and as the President of the Belarusian Library Association.
With her selfless and wise service in the field of education and culture, and with everything Galina Oleynik has created during her professional career, she is one of the best representatives of Belarusian intellectuals.
