The UNO is the biggest universal international organization and plays an important role in the system of international relations. Anniversary of the attachment of the UNO Charter – October 24, 1945, has being observed since 1948 as the United Nations Day. Traditionally it is observed by organizing of conferences, discussions and exhibitions dedicated to achievements and objects of the UNO. In 1971 the UNO General Assembly recommended all member states to observe this day as a state holiday (resolution 2782 (XXVI)).
The UNO’s activities during the last years show that, in spite of some difficulties and disadvantages, is a needed and viable Organization. Cooperation in the framework of the UNO is a significant part of international relations. Today 192 states are members of the United Nations Organization. All peaceful states can be enrolled in the Organization by the General Assembly decision and the Security Council recommendation.
The modern world is transforming permanently; the United Nations Organization is changing as well. Today the Organization needs reforms and modernization as the modern world makes high demands of the UNO, its institutions, funds, and programs.
Today, all the UNO’s activities have been reformed: effectiveness increase of operations on peace maintenance and international security; international cooperation in the field of economic, social, and cultural issues; improvement of executive systems and staff protection at the local level.
We invite to the exhibition experts in international law and international relations, political scientists, students and professors, and everyone who is interested in theUNO’s activity.
