From June 20, 2008, in the Visual Materials Reading Room is open an exhibition “Moments Captured by the Master” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Gavril Vaschenko, the people’s artist of the Republic of Belarus, pedagogue, professor, and the founder of the chair of monumental art.
Most of the works by Gavril Vaschenko are paintings. Besides that, the artist worked in monumental art that he was generally recognized. His works are notable for a pure lyricism, philosophy, and an exquisite colorist and composition skill.
During his career, the artist created works of a great esthetical value which are highly appreciated by Belarusian people.
At the exhibition are displayed albums, books, articles, postcards, and reproductions of works by the eminent artist.
We invite to the exhibition everybody who is interested in the modern Belarusian art and works by Gavril Vaschenko.
The exhibition is open from June 20, 2008, to July 20, 2008, on the third floor, in graphic and video materials reading room (room 307).
