Library Service Department
Activity
The major task of the department is to provide a differentiated user service and meeting information needs with traditional and new information technologies.
Duties:
- organization of differentiated user service in the reading rooms of the department by a reader's card or virtual service;
- formation of the central deposit collection;
- development of users’ information culture;
- profile research and methodological work.
Functions:
- Providing service, including for the blind and the visually impaired users, by delivering documents from the central collection of the Library, deposit collections of the division and documents received on interlibrary loan;
- providing access to the electronic resources of the Library and Licensed electronic information resources;
- consulting and reference and bibliographic user service;
- informing users on new documents acquired by the Library;
- collecting and arranging for doposit collections, ensuring record and safety of documents;
- providing additional (paid) services: photocopying and scanning the parts of documents, export of electronic information to different kinds of carriers, use of carrels, determining publication activities of authors/organizations, electronic delivery of documents, by using an individual reader's ticket, by an agreement on reader's service.
