On July 8th–9th at Republican Research Library took place a business-seminar "Web 2.0 Technology in libraries. Social networks”.
The seminar organized by Republican Research Library with the support of the USA Embassy in the Republic of Belarus gathered representatives of republican, district, regional and university libraries of the country.
Participants of the event considered the world experience in Web 2.0 Technology and also prospects of development of the technology in Belarusian libraries and participation of libraries in social networks.
The National Library of Belarus was represented at the seminar by Olga Lukyanova, the chief librarian of the Internet Portal Support Department, with the report “Social Networks Marketing”.
Within the framework of the event, participants visited the Information Center of the USA Embassy where the presentation of a Russian Facebook page about the USA and a video conference with Helene Blowers, Digital Strategy Director for the Columbus Metropolitan Library (Ohio, the USA) took place.
