On June 20, the National Library of Belarus hosted a ceremonial donation of Vyacheslav Bondarenko’s book “Four Fates. One Motherland” to regional and city libraries.

The book "Four Fates. One Motherland" of the writer, historian and journalist Vyacheslav Bondarenko is an impressive epic novel, a great story about the fate of several people and even whole generations. The publication claims the title of not only the most voluminous, but also the most international Belarusian novel, as the action unfolds within sixty years in twenty-one countries.

The four main characters are engaged in the cycle of historical events: the First World War, the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War... With encyclopedic reliability, the author describes every situation, moment and detail, depicting with competence the life of a cadet school, its customs, statutory rules, etc.

At the event, author Vyacheslav Bondarenko, a member of the Writers' Union of Belarus and Russia, presented the publication and shared with the audience the history of its creation. The author worked on the book for two years, visiting different countries, so many fragments related to these trips are written off, as they say, from nature. When writing the novel, he used a huge number of sources from archival materials to publications. The novel is richly illustrated with photographs that help readers to more clearly represent the people or events in question.

During the ceremony Vyacheslav Bondarenko presented a copy of the book to Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky. The remaining 200 copies are to be transferred to city and district libraries.

Sergey Zhitikhin, the chairman of the Republican Council of the Belarusian Union of Suvorov Military School Students and Cadets, told the audience about the joint project "Four Fates. One Motherland", which for a long time existed as an online publication on the union’s website. The fact that the novel has acquired a new life after being published by “Aversev” is encouraging, and now talks are underway about the possibility of screening the work.

In his speech, Sergey Zhitikhin expressed gratitude to Roman Motulsky for fruitful cooperation and solemnly handed him the medal "For Fidelity to the Cadetship". Director Roman Motulsky thanked for the award and noted that he shared it with all the staff of the library, engaged in the popularization of military and patriotic literature.

The event was also attended by the leading public relations specialist of the publishing house "Aversev", Margarita Katsko, students of Minsk Suvorov Military School, the specialized lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Minsk City Cadet School.
