On March 27, 2009, in the NLB’s educational technologies hall was held an International seminar on technological foresight for top executives of ministries and agencies of the Republic of Belarus.
The seminar was dedicated to the analysis of the world experience in foresight researches and peculiarities of Belarusian experience in this field.
In the seminar participated: representatives of the State Committee on Science and Technologies, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, National Library of Belarus, Republican Center of Transfer of Technologies, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Institute of Economy, as well as representatives of sectoral ministries and regional executive committees which supervise technological foresight projects in the Republic of Belarus planned for 2011-2030.
Roman Motulsky, Director of National Library of Belarus delivered a welcoming speech.
Pyotr Vityaz, deputy chairman of the presidium of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus spoke about technological foresight as a way of integration of Belarus into the world community. Alexander Sokolov, director of Foresight-center “The Higher School of Economy” acquainted participants of the seminar with Russian experience in foresight researches.
At the discussion which took place at the end of the seminar participants exchanged views and discussed the further cooperation and interaction. The results of the seminar are to be the basis of a coordinated image of technological future of Belarus and competitiveness of national economy.
