On the eve of the Day of Defenders of the Motherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of the Pervomaisky district organization of the public association "Belarusian Union of Veterans of the war in Afghanistan" visited the National Library of Belarus. This is symbolic in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of our Homeland from Nazi invaders and the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.
The soldiers-internationalist were given an excursion, during which they got acquainted with the architectural features and decoration of the building. Using QR codes, they learned important facts from the history of the main library of our country during the Great Patriotic War. In the Book Museum, the guests saw rare editions and manuscripts from the collections of the National Library of Belarus, including the original of the Bible by Francisk Skaryna.
At the end of the tour, the soldiers-internationalist got acquainted with the exhibition "The language of military illustrations", climbed to the Observation deck and admired Minsk from a bird's-eye view.
