On January 26, 2024, the National Library of Belarus hosted a Republican meeting of the scientific community dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science.
Belarusian Science Day, officially established in 1993, is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of January in the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition of scientific achievements of the republic, taken place in the library, was dedicated to this important event in the life of the scientific community of the country. 291 projects from 70 institutions and organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Education, the State Military-Industrial Committee, a number of ministries, as well as residents of technoparks were presented.
The National Library also took part in the exhibition and presented virtual resources and services: a virtual reading room, electronic document delivery, a consolidated electronic catalogue, a regional consolidated electronic catalog, an online encyclopedia, the State Register of Book Monuments of Belarus, a bank of information about the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus and a number of other virtual projects.
Within the framework of the event, a meeting and an award ceremony were held for fruitful scientific and pedagogical activities, significant personal contribution to the development of Belarusian science. A concert program was organized for the participants of the festive event.
Among the participants of the event were the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the State Committee for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Industry.
The organizer was the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of the Scientific and Technical Sphere.
