The book-illustrative exhibition “Feeling of Happiness”, devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian artist Raisa Kudrevitch, takes place from March 28 to April 28 in the Fine Arts reading room (room 306).

Talented painter, the only woman in Belarus who received the title of National Artist, Raisa Kudrevich (1919–2000) had a significant influence on the development of Belarusian art. She fulfilled her gift not only in the field of portrait, landscape, still life, but also in the field of multi-figure painting, the most complex and labor-intensive variety of easel painting.

The feeling of happiness and joy accompanied Raisa Kudrevich throughout her long life and creative career. One of the main traits of the artist's character is persistent optimism, distinguished by spontaneity and sincerity. All her works are united by a life-affirming joyful attitude. Love for life, deep humanity, open emotionality of images in her works attract. Happiness is wonderfully reflected in all her works, manifesting itself in the affirmation of beauty, poetry and power in the depiction of man and nature.

Encyclopedic dictionnary and periodicals, books and albums presented at the exhibition, as well as reproductions of paintings by the artist, among which are “In the Native Collective Farm”, “Girlfriends”, “Holidays ended”, “Belarussian choruses”, “Portrait in Red Hat”, ”Student”, “May Rain”, “Evening in Priluki”, “Asters”, etc.

Raisa Kudrevich is an artist who combines outstanding talent, professional skill, optimism and an active lifestyle.
