The exhibition "Earth traveller" is on show in the hall of Belarusian Literature Reading Room (205) from February 24 to March 30 to mark the 90th anniversary of the birth of Pavel Misko, the Belarusian writer, poet, playwright, publicist, translator.

Pavel Misko (1931-2011) is a true word artist, a talented master whose work is represented by various literary genres: fairy tales, stories, stories, essays, poems, etc. They call for justice, humanity, mutual assistance. The writer's creativity is inherent in the attention to the everyday element of folklife, sincere attitude to the man of labour, a living multicoloured folk word. The works by Pavel Misko admire with rich life content and culture of writing.

Among the other to the attention of visitors of the exhibition - books of short stories and novels "Kalynaie liste", "Sentenced to life" novels "Gradaboy", "Where are you from, guys...", a novel in the verses "While the sun caresses the earth...", a collection of poems "Pink showers". Stories, humour, feuilletons, literary parodies, etc. There are the works by Pavel Misko on the exposure regiments of the National Library of Belarus.

The basic vocation of Pavel Misko became children's literature, in spite of the successes in the literature for the adult. Children's fairy tales, adventure and fantastic works of Pavel Misko became present classics. On the acquaintance of robots with the earthlings narrates the author in the narrative “Erpіdy on the planet Earth”, it is interesting, with the humour it tells about the adventures of two puppies in the narrative “Bulboby's adventures”. His works are originated from a real love for the children, by partiality to their problems and concerns, by the faith in the invincible force of kindness, friendship, mutual aid.

The translation activity of the writer is separately represented.

The exposition is supplemented by literature on the life and career of the author.


The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by library card or by the ticket of the library's social and cultural centre.

The Belarusian Notary Chamber and the National Library of Belarus: keeping history together

On June 5, in the Hall of Educational Technologies of the NLB, within the framework of the previously signed agreement on cooperation in the field of information activities between the Belarusian Notary Chamber and the National Library of Belarus, a solemn transfer to the library's collections of a unique publication dedicated to the stages of the formation of the institute of notary in the Belarusian lands took place.
