The opening ceremony of the ІV Minsk international exhibition of graphic arts “Art-Line” took place on 31 May at the gallery “Rakurs”.


For the fourth time, the “Art-Line” has gathered works of talented artists in the Library’s galleries to acquaint the audience with the rich palette of modern graphic arts. This year artists from Belarus, Cuba, Poland, the USA, Ukraine, Sweden and Estonia present their works.

In 2011 the Minsk international exhibition of graphic arts “Art-Line” includes a retro-program: a collection of reproduction French graphics of the XIX – early XX centuries from the collections of the National Library of Belarus.

Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus for User Service and Ideology Elena Dolgopolova opened the exhibition.

The project curator and Head of the Gallery and Exhibition Division of the National Library of Belarus Fyodor Yastreb; the guest of honor, people’s artist of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of Belarus, Professor Arlen Koshkurevich, and young talented artists Darya Moroz and Yuliya Matsuro whose works are on display took part in the event.

The “Art-Line” exposition is located in the galleries “Rakurs”, “Labyrinth” and “Atrium” and runs up to July, 2011.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
