A festive opening of the photo project "Golden Age of Hollywood – women-legends" with the participation of the US Embassy in the Republic of Belarus took place in the Library on March 22.
Visitors of the event could immerse in the epoch of the Golden Age of Hollywood, which contribution to the cinematography is great. Famous classic films of that period, such as Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, belong to the golden fund of the global cinema.
The temporary charge d’affaires of the USA in the Republic of Belarus Scott Roland presented to the National Library books which were in the basis of Hollywood movies and more than 100 discs with legendary Hollywood movies – examples of the classic American cinematography.
The most famous names of representatives of the cinematography of the Golden Age were included in the lecture "Great women of Hollywood", which was delivered by the consul of the US Embassy in the Republic of Belarus Frederick Stern.
The event program included the review of the musical Singin’ in the Rain – one of the most outstanding Hollywood musicals, filmed in 1952. The film features popular music of N. Brown, but the movie won hearts of people not only with the music or songs, but the combination of melodies, vocals, dances.
At the opening of the exhibition, cinema art lovers enjoyed photos of famous actresses. Their charm, elegance and style, typical of Hollywood cinematography of 30–40s of the XX century, and today inspire many designers and stylists for creation of unique patterns.
The exposition confirms the facts that cinema stars of the Golden Age are the example of glamour, which is attractive and gorgeous.
