The personal exhibition of the Belarusian artist Maxim Piatrul "UNTITLED" opened in the Library on January 26.
Sculptures and objects of the author since 2002 are demonstrated at the exhibition. Posters of public artworks and sculptures in parks of China and in our capital the Victory Fountain (2010) in the Park of Victory, Grushevka (2012) and Malinovka (2014) at these underground stations are presented.
Generality of forms and conceptual importance in his famous monuments and easel works Elephantus, Taiji, Birds, Counterbutterfly are typical of his art. He combines contrasting materials in his works The smell of Rain, O, Counterbalance. Sometimes the author turns to irony and controversy, it’s observed in the series of works At Home (2010–2015) and Artapology (2013–2015).
Artist’s works are kept in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Museum of Modern Fine Art in Minsk, the Museum of Sculpture in Hualien City in Taiwan, and in one of the largest and most prestigious world collections – the collection of Reinhold Würth, businessman, art patron, owner of Würth Group in Germany, and in the collection of the Olympic art in Beijing in China created during the XXIX Olympics.
Maxim Piatrul was awarded several times by the Belarusian Union of Artists, the Belarusian Union of Architects, the Chinese Association of Sculptors, the Commission on Culture of the International Olympic Committee and the Special Fund of President of the Republic of Belarus on talented youth support.
The head of the gallery and exhibition department of the National Library Alexander Zimenko, the architect and laureate of the State Prize for two times Victor Kramarenko, the vice chairman of the Belarusian Union of artists on exhibitions activities Leonid Khobotov and the artist Maxim Piatrul participated in the event.
Library visitors can get acquainted with the exhibition in the gallery “Labyrinth” (3rd floor) till February 20, 2016.
