The exhibition "Glory to the Winners!" is dedicated to Victory Day (May 9) and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.

The exhibition features a memorable and vivid invention of the fine arts of the twentieth century - propaganda posters from the Collection of the National Library of Belarus. The presented works are devoted to one of the main themes of the fine art of Belarus of the last century - the theme of the Great Patriotic War. Posters of famous Soviet masters are on display, including members of the Union of Artists of the BSSR – Roman Malinovsky, Igor Kreidik, Vladimir Zhuk, Georgy Poplavsky, Evgeny Busel, Askold Churkin, linocuts by Gennady Grak, Nikolai Seleshchuk, Viktor Nikita, Yuri Gerasimenko, etc.

During the war propaganda posters were a ruthless ideological weapon. Created in the post-war years, they witnessed history, documents that preserved not only facts and information, reflected the events experienced, but also embodied iconic images: the defense of the Motherland, the disobedience of Soviet people on the territory occupied by the enemy, a liberating and bright victorious theme, etc. The posters are filled with pride for their compatriots, sorrow for the departed, hatred of enemies and gratitude to the winners. Expressive quatrains, vivid theses, strong-willed faces, worthy figures, colorful victory colors of posters created in the post-war years – the years after the victory – are saturated with an energetic desire to perpetuate the memory of the great feat of the people!

Propaganda posters demonstrate the striking features of socialist realism in art: the use of antagonistic colors – red and dark – to reflect the idea of confrontation and victory of the right side, the personification of the national flag of the Soviet Union in red, the "top"-"bottom" confrontation, which opposes the defeated enemy to the winner. The artistic techniques and the general content of the post-war propaganda poster are aimed at supporting and inspiring citizens to rebuild the country after the terrible losses of the Great Patriotic War, to congratulate the tired and exhausted with hardships on victory, to arouse pride in themselves and self-confidence.

The exhibition "Glory to the winners!" It presents a gallery of victorious portraits and subjects, as well as embodied strength, might, will, victory – images well known to many generations of Soviet citizens. The exhibition restores the mood of the memorable Victory Day of 1945-the memory of which will be famous for centuries, whose heroes are eternal!
