“We Are Grateful for the Victorious May!”, a thematic exhibition timed to the Victory Day, runs in the exhibition space on the 2nd floor, from May 7 to June 17.
Decades go by, generations change, but the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 will remain forever in the annals of Belarus as a heroic symbol of national dignity, military glory and valor. The Belarusians were the first to face the treacherous attack of Nazi occupants on June 22, 1941. Thousands of our compatriots fought in the war. In the relentless struggle against the enemy, they showed a piece of bravery, fortitude and heroism, performing crucial tasks to protect the Fatherland.
Our sacred duty is to preserve the heroic legacy and martial tradition of the Belarusian people, and to pass to new generations the most sacred feeling – love for the Fatherland, the sovereign and independent Belarus.
The exhibition, offered by the National Library of Belarus, presents more than 150 books, which have been published for the last three years, and which tell about heroism, courage and fortitude of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. They tell stories about unique human fates, unknown or little known military events, and feats accomplished by different nations in the name of Victory. The main purpose of these editions is to show that we remember those who have won the right to immortality by the most expensive cost – at the expense of their own lives.
The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
