The evening dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of Yan Skrygan in the library number 3 named after V. Mayakovsky.
The event dedicated to another anniversary of the writer was organized by Yan Skrygan's daughter Galina Skrygan. As every 5 years, people who personally knew the writer, familiar with the Skrygan family, as well as researchers, keepers of the documentary heritage of the famous writer, whose work continues to live in the publications of his daughter, gathered here.
The event was hosted by Oleg Vinyarsky, an actor and director of the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus. Galina Skrygan opened the event with stories about her father. She recalled his passion for making things with his own hands and showed the audience a book he had made from newspaper clippings, recently found among the writer's documents. The document to the collections of the Museum of History and Local Lore (AG Kamen, Kopyl District) was presented. Galina Skrygan also presented a new book, published specifically for this anniversary. The writers Vladimir Yagovdik and Nikolai Kostyukevich were among the speakers.
The Head of the Information and Analytical Department of the National Library of Belarus, Tatiana Lavrik, presented a new NLBs virtual section dedicated to the 115th anniversary of Yan Skrygan (1905–1992).
The evening was attended by museum workers: Olga Guleva, head of the scientific and exposition department of the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature; Natalia Mizon, head of the Petrus Brovka Literary Museum, who spoke about the documents of Yan Skrygan stored in museums. Director of the State Institution "Kamensk Educational and Pedagogical Complex Kindergarten - Secondary School" Galina Vasilevich presented the exposition of the writer, presented in the Museum of History and Local Lore "Batskaushchyna".
The special atmosphere of the evening was created by musical performances of the soloist of the ensemble "Vuraj", ethnographer Sergei Dolgushev.
Unfortunately, many speakers who wanted to speak at the event was unable to come due to illness and a difficult epidemiological situation.
