The 21st Uzvysha Readings were held at the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of the History of Literature and Art on May 26. There, the joint project "On the Waives of Time Throughout Life" of the Archive-Museum and the National Library was highly appreciated.

Ms Hanna Zapartyka, Director of the Archive-Museum opened the conference with a welcome speech noting the importance of the traditional meeting of researchers. She presented the second issue of the collection "Autograph" (2021). Its first edition appeared last year and included presentations by researchers at conferences in recent years. Mr Aliaksej Tsviatkou, Deputy Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus stressed the need for such meetings and their future prospects.

Ms Tatsiana Lauryk, Head of the Information and Analytical Department of the National Library of Belarus spoke at the conference, about “Maladnyak members in the virtual project “On the Waives of Time Throughout Life”: Kuzma Chorny, Uladzimir Dubouka, Jan Skrygan and Zmіtrok Biadulia". Special emphasis was placed on the virtual sections of the most prominent authors and on the materials of the Archive-Museum used in their creation.

A promotional video was shown about the virtual project and its preparation by the National Library of Belarus, the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art and "Maladost" journal. Watch the video here.

The employees of the Archive made their reports at the conference – Mr Viktar Zhybul, leading employee with a report on this year's anniversary celebrant Zmitrok Biadulia, Ms Natalja Hardzijenka, Deputy Director, with information about Anton Adamovich. Interesting reports were made about the members of the associations "Maladnyak" and "Uzvysha", by Ms Aksana Danilchyk, Candidate of Philology, Ms Zhana Shaladonava, Doctoral Student at the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Mr Mikhail Baranouski, Head of the branch of the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature "Literary Museum of Maksim Bahdanovich" and Mr Valery Nazarau, research scientist of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

At the end of the conference, Mr Viktar Zhybul conducted an excursion around the exhibition "Then you'll Talk with the Universe...", prepared for the 95th anniversary of the "Uzvysha" association.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
