What was written in newspapers a year after the October Revolution. We continue the co-project of the newspaper «Sovetskaya Belorussiya – Belarus Segodnya» and the National Library of Belarus.

Since the October Revolution in 1917, which proclaimed as its goal the liberation from all oppression of the working people, only a little more than a year has passed. Nevertheless, the new life has already become a fact of time. But the situation in Belarus was different, cause a significant part of its territory remained under the German occupation during almost the whole 1918. October and the beginning of November of 1918 were marked by the so-called peace negotiations between the parties opposing the First World War. And only with the surrender of Germany, the turbulent flow of revolution re-joined the Belarusian shores at the end of 1918. Preparations for the proclamation of the SSRB (Socialist Soviet Republic of Belarus), which was intended to accomplish the goals declared by the Bolsheviks in October 1917, began. It was marked by chaos and mess, in politics, economics, public relations and simply in the minds of people. Although it seems like the direction and the prospect are set. But it is not always everything good without braking and misfires on the way. Even among young people who are at the forefront of any revolutionary process.
