On Saturday, May 26, 2007, in the sport and tourist camp "Olympijets" took place the opening of the sport and cultural holiday "Sport competitions of cultural and art workers 2007". 14 teams from Minsk and districts, and also representatives of republican institutions (the Belarusian Sate Academy of Music, the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, the National Library of Belarus, the Ministry of Culture and republican museums) took part in the competitions.

On May 24-25, 2007, Roman Motulsky, the Director of the National Library of Belarus took part in the International scientific conference "Slavonic word and culture in the context of the world development", organized by V.I.Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, and in the round table "Library as a component of viability of the state" of representatives of the biggest libraries of Ukraine and Belarus, where he answered to Ukrainian librarians' questions.

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.
