The Space of Estonian Books exhibition as part of the 27th Minsk International Book Fair opens at the National Library of Belarus on February 7.

Roman Motulsky, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, Merike Kokajev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Belarus, Nelly Abashina-Meltz, Director of Aleksandra publishing house and Editor-in-Chief of the Tallinn magazine, Valentina Kashina, Director of KPD publishing house took part in the event.

The exhibition presents the shortlisted publications of the 2017 Most Artful Publication contest, and books of KPD and Aleksandra publishing house, which publish Estonian literature in Russian. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the Tallinn, a magazine of literature and art, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018.

The exposition includes a section 25 Estonian Books in the Collections of the National Library of Belarus. There are more than 1.5 thousand Estonian-language publications in the “Diamond of Knowledge”. Books selected for the exhibition are dedicated to the history of Tallinn, literature, culture, architectural and visual arts of the Republic of Estonia.

The exhibition closing date is subject to change.
Admission is by library card or by the Social and Cultural Center ticket.

On April 8-12 the VII International Scientific and Practical Seminar "Document Restoration: Conservatism and Innovation - 2024" was held at the Russian State Library. This is the largest professional forum, the main task of which is to exchange experience and improve the skills of restorers and curators of museum, library and archival collections from different countries.

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.
