A guide to the library portal, about the most necessary and interesting.
We recommend you to pay attention to the web-services of the National Library of Belarus, in case you do want to take advantage of the opportunities that the National Library offers without leaving home.
Do you want to learn more about the activities of the library itself and even look at the collections in the staff only places? Then be sure to watch the video “What is available in the National Library of Belarus”.
The library provides remote access to its services and facilities. If you face any troubles while searching for any information, our staff will provide it for free through the Virtual Reference Service "Ask a Librarian" and the Legal Information Center Online. Read more on the Virtual Services page.
Our Paid Services are also accessible remotely. You can place an order to compile a list of references, edit your bibliography or check your papers for plagiarism. Also, our specialists help to index documents and determine the publication activity of the author or organization. Electronic Delivery of documents is also available: The National Library provides the opportunity to order digitized fragments of publications, chapters and articles from books, magazines, newspapers, audio documents, etc. All these services are paid online.
In the “Electronic information resources” section you can find databases of various subjects containing information on many branches of knowledge.
The section "Open Access Resources" is a selection of electronic libraries, archives, online encyclopedias, subject directories and search engines from around the world that store a lot of information from different fields of science. The section contains a large number of useful links for researchers.
Digital Libraries is also a notable section. The project “The Gold Collection of Eurasia” contains collections of the most outstanding and valuable editions which reflect the distinguishing features of peoples living in the member countries of the EURASEC and other member states of the CIS. This also includes publications from the collections of the National Library. The electronic library of manuscripts (Manuscriptorium) is an information retrieval system consisting of an open catalogue of historical collections and a digital library of manuscripts and old-printed documents. The portal provides a link to the World Digital Library with free access in a multilingual format to a large number of materials representing cultures of different countries.
Those who are engaged in science will benefit from this section of the portal. Here you will find all the information necessary for a researcher: starting with how to select literature on the topic of research and ending with how to transfer the author's abstract and thesis itself to the library collections.
Virtual Exhibitions and Projects
The portal also provides virtual projects and exhibitions of the National Library of Belarus. "The Wonderful World of Jazep Drazdovich: the 130th birth anniversary" is one of our digital projects dedicated to the famous Belarusian artist and sculptor, Yazep Drozdovich. The project presents digital copies and videos of Drozdovich’s works.
A number of books, magazines and articles are available as part of the virtual project, "On the Wave of Time, Throughout the Life", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the "Maladnyak" Literary Association. This literature was digitized for the first time and posted on the portal of our library.
The electronic collection "The Book of Belarus in the 14–18th Centuries" contains copies of full texts of rare and old printed documents from the collections of the National Library of Belarus published in the 14–18th centuries, which belong to Belarus according to the territory, language, author or contents. Here you can find electronic versions of Skaryna’s editions among other rarities.
Belarus in the Information Space

Visitors are told about the architectural features of one of the most unusual libraries in the world and its activities during excursions. In addition, you can get acquainted with the country's book treasury remotely using a video presentation or a virtual tour to the library, as well as materials from the series “Outstanding People of the Motherland” prepared by employees of the Excursion and Methodological Work Department.
