From 17 September, a permanent virtual exhibition "The first word in each fate" dedicated to Mother's Day (14 October) will be presented to the audience attention.


Each person in his heart depending on his age and life experience has always some sacred things, the most secret and respect images and truth that include the main sense and the essential orienting point. Perhaps the first such thing that each of us discovers is the image of our Mother.

"Mama" is the first word that a man says. In this word, we sometimes unconsciously put immense love and infinite gratitude for giving a life to us, unceasing care, sleepless nights, warmth and tenderness, and for support that we always have.

The documents of the virtual exhibition "The first word in each fate" which are presented in the following sections "From the history of the holiday", "The image of mother in the painting", "The image of mother in Poetry", "Scenarios of celebrating Mother’s Day", "To young mother" will be interesting for a wider audience.

Users can order these publications in the Library and by an electronic catalog on the website.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
