On February 11, 2009, Yuri Stolyarov, professor, Doctor of pedagogy, honored worker of the Russian Federation Higher School, president of “Library science” department, full member of the UNO International Informatization Academy delivered a lecture in National Library of Belarus.
Yuri Stolyarov is an author of 26 books and over 300 articles and reviews in Russian and foreign languages. Yuri Stolyarov made a significant contribution to the world library science, that is why he is regarded as one of venerable coryphaeus of the scientific library school. Being an outstanding scientist he can find a solution of the most difficult modern issues.
27 dissertations, including 3 doctoral theses were defended under the direction of Yuri Stolyarov; outstanding scientists - Yuri Stolyarov’s former students – work both in Russia and abroad. R.S. Motulsky, Director of National Library of Belarus, professor, Doctor of pedagogy was one of Yuri Stolyarov’s students as well.
