On June 1, on International Children's Day, a bright event took place in the Book Museum – the grand opening of the exhibition "Young Belarusian Ex-libris" and the awarding of the ex-libris contest winners.

Creating a book sign is not an easy task, but young artists and bibliologists did an excellent job. The exhibition features over 170 artworks – ex-libris created by young talents! The contest is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Belarus and the 15th anniversary of the Book Museum. Children from 6 to 16 attended the event.

The project partner was OZ company, which provided memorable gifts for the winners.

Welcome speech to the participants of the contest and guests were made by:

Mr Alies Susha, Deputy Director General of the National Library of Belarus, Mr Alieh Sudliankou, bibliophile and collector of prints and bookplates, Mr Viktar Sauchanka, graphic artist, Ms Julija Shatsila, artist and teacher, made welcome speeches.

Ex-libris is both bookmarks and works of art. Young artists elaborated plots, ideas and painted book signs, conveying the contest theme with laconic means in a small format. The works turned out to be different and all were amazing and original!

The authoritative jury selected the winners in the contest of the National Library of Belarus and the Book Museum.
