The National Library of Belarus takes part in the exhibition organized for the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly.
The most significant publishing projects of the main library of the country are presented in the thematic sections "Printed Heritage" and "Spiritual Heritage".
Among the exhibits - 22 volumes of "The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna" in a beautiful leather chest, "Brest Bible, 1563", a facsimile edition timed to the 1000th anniversary of Brest, "Holy Gospel" (Polotsk) bound on boards in burgundy leather and with six stones (jasper), “Holy Gospel. Slutsk, 1582", the first "Primer" in an oak box, published facsimile for the 400th anniversary of the original, "Turov Gospel" in leather binding, etc.
The National Library today is a unique book depository, where the largest in Belarus and universal in its nature fund of publications and monuments of writing, values of national and world culture is concentrated. One of the ways to preserve and popularize them is to reproduce them in the form of facsimile and reprint editions. The purpose of the library is to preserve and make available to the general public rare, unique or especially valuable for history and art monuments - books and manuscripts.
Participants of the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly have the opportunity to get acquainted with the values of the national culture and learn more deeply the history of book monuments.
