In the Year of Native Land the virtual reading room of the National Library of Belarus continues to acquaint with local history resources placed in the section “Electronic Resources of Partner Organizations”.

Dear friends! Today we virtually present a multidimensional database "War. Memory. Search", created by the research center of local lore of the Centralized Library System of Osipovichy district, Mogilev region.

The theme of the Great Patriotic War is important for each Belarusian. A lot of resources created by the staff of the Belarusian libraries allow to virtually get closer to the events and to the experience of the older generation. One of these resources is the project "War. Memory. Search" created by the research center of local lore of the Centralized Library System of Osipovichy district, Mogilev region. It contains information on several areas: restoration of battles on this territory, updating of lists of dead and returned soldiers, placement of memories, letters from the front, family chronicles. The database helps to find information about the deceased relatives.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

This year marks the 205th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous composer, our famous countryman Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872). By this date, the National Library of Belarus is replenishing with new materials the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created in 2019.

The 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War are among the main events of 2024 and 2025. Numerous patriotic and cultural and educational events, scientific conferences, exhibitions, publishing projects, electronic resources and much more will be dedicated to these anniversaries for two years.
