The delegation of the Belarusian Union of Navy Sailors visited the National Library of Belarus on September 17.


For the guests there was organized an excursion around the library, where they got acquainted with its history and resources, opportunities as the information and socio-cultural centre of the country.

The participants of the excursion observed architectural peculiarities and decoration of the building.

Safija Dudko, mother of Siarhej Dudko, the senior assistant of commander of the nuclear-powered submarine "Kursk", was in the delegation.

The author Safija Dudko presented to the National Library her book “We Remember Everyone…”Kursk”. K-141” during the excursion.

This is the largest professional forum, the main task of which is to exchange experience and improve the skills of restorers and curators of museum, library and archival collections from different countries.

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.
