On September 20, a delegation of Belarusians from Russia visited the National Library as part of the event "Dnieper – a Friendship River".

The event was attended by the Director General of the National Library of Belarus Vadzim Hihin, the Chairman of the National Library of Belarusians of Russia, member of the Presidium of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on Interethnic Relations, member of the Advisory Council for Belarusians Abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Kandybovich, representatives of many regions of Russia, heads of public organizations of Belarusians, heads of veteran and youth organizations of the autonomy.

The delegation of Belarusians of Russia and the library management discussed different issues of cooperation and the possibility of developing cultural ties between the two countries. The participants expressed hope for further development and strengthening of friendly relations between Belarus and Russia in the field of culture and education.

An introductory tour was held for the honored guests, where the possibilities of the library as an information and socio-cultural centre, the history of the institution and its unique architecture were demonstrated.
