Ignat Domeyko’s descendants visited the library – the great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons living in Chile, the USA and Australia.
The Russian translation of the Spanish book Ignat Domeyko: from Medvedka to Santiago de Chile (1802–1889) was published in the publishing house “Zvyazda” to the 215th anniversary of Ignat Domeyko.
The book was written by Paz Domeyko Lea-Plaza, the great-granddaughter of our famous countryman. In the publication the author uses the diaries of her famous ancestor and his correspondence with well-known personalities of the XIX century.
The publication of the translation was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus. One copy was given to Ignat Domeyko’s descendants, another copy with autographs was given to the National Library of Belarus.
