On the eve of the 975th anniversary of Navahrudak, a virtual reading room offers information resources that reflect the greatness of this ancient Belarusian city.

The resources created by the Navahrudak District Library will help to know more about one of the most important historical centers of Belarus and its famous people.

The database "Navahrudak in Fine Art Works" («Новогрудок в изобразительном искусстве») contains digitized photocopies of numerous works about the city, representing its images in historical and modern space: landscapes, historical events, characters, preserved and lost architectural monuments. There is also information about the authors, including Belarusian and foreign artists, fellow countrymen. Digitized creative works by students of educational institutions of Navahrudak are also there.

The resource "Personalities of the Navahrudak Region" («Персоналии Новогрудского края») contains information about natives of Navahrudak, outstanding personalities who, thanks to their achievements in various fields of activity, have glorified the city and its surroundings.

History and local history, architecture and fine arts amateurs will receive both some information, and vivid emotional impressions from a virtual acquaintance with the city, which was the heart of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Everyone can test their knowledge about the city, the region and the history of Belarus.

Librarian Ulyana Sidorovich: “My work for seventy percent consists of creativity”

When entering the reading room, you can’t help but notice a colorful exhibition stand. This month’s display is dedicated to the World Animal Day. The exposition is prepared by Ulyana Sidorovich, a librarian at the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Department, who has been working here for four years.
