In 2019, the Republic of Belarus celebrates the 65th anniversary of joining the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). On this occasion, the National Library of Belarus, with the information support of the National Commission for UNESCO, has prepared a new virtual project “UNESCO and Belarus: the Milestones of Cooperation”.
UNESCO is an important partner of Belarus in solving problems in the socio-cultural sphere, as well as a unique platform for promoting achievements in the field of culture, science, education and information technologies, state foreign policy initiatives and mutually beneficial bilateral contacts.
The library’s new virtual project reveals the most important lines of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and UNESCO.
The project consists of ten sections, each containing textual and visual information, as well as references including books, theses, articles from journals and collections, periodicals, electronic resources, audio and video materials from the collections of the National Library with shelf codes and hyperlinks to full texts of publications.
The information about events (congresses, conferences, seminars, round tables) in the field of education, science, culture and information held in Belarus under the auspices of UNESCO is given, as well as the information on documents and materials published with the support of UNESCO.
The project is designed for specialists in international law, world politics and international relations, sociologists, employees of cultural and art institutions, university students and teachers, as well as anyone interested in the activities of UNESCO and the most important areas of cooperation of our country with the organization.
