Employees of the Library participated in the international videoconference “Ways of development of the CIS libraries for 25 years” on November 24.


Leaders and specialists of the Russian State Library, the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the National Library of Uzbekistan n.a. Alisher Navoi took part in the event.

The non-commercial partnership “Library Assembly of Eurasia” organized the conference.

Galina Raikova, head of the interlibrary interaction with libraries of Russia and the CIS department of the Russian State Library, general director of the non-commercial partnership “Library Assembly of Eurasia”, greeted participants and gave a brief overview of activities of national libraries of the CIS.

Marina Pshibytko, head of library science department of the National Library of Belarus, highlighted achievements of librarianship in the Republic of Belarus for the last 25 years.

Veronika Polyakova, head of scientific research service of the National Library of Uzbekistan n.a. Alisher Navoi, told about the development of informational library sphere in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Rustam Ahmetjanov, engineer-programmer of the service of electronic resources of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, described projects realized in state libraries.

Participants shared their experience, discussed further ways of interaction and highlighted the necessity of the CIS libraries’ development, including organization of online events.

July 15 marks the 145th anniversary of the birth of Alaiza Pashkievich (Ciotka), a famous Belarusian writer, author of poetry, prose and publicistic writing, the founder of children's didactic literature in Belarus, as well as a public figure who made a significant contribution to the development and popularization of the Belarusian culture, language, and understanding national identity. Many of her words still touch the heart and remain relevant today, and her works are immortal classics.
