Documentary-artistic program “Unsubdued Belarus” timed to the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi occupants opens at 5 p.m., June 25, 2009, in the galley “Labyrinth”.
Documentary-artistic project “Unsubdued Belarus” is the sign of respect for heroes perished in the Great Patriotic War and veterans: front-line soldiers, partisans, and members of underground organizations.
An electronic publication ”Underground and partisan press in Belarus” developed by experts of National Library of Belarus, National Archive and Museum of the Great Patriotic War History under the aegis of the UNESCO will be presented in the framework of the event.
The CD-ROM contains digitized copies of hand-written and printed publications: underground and partisan press, leaflets, wall newspaper, and manuscript books from the collections of National Library of Belarus.
Visitors will see book exhibitions arranged by National Library of Belarus in cooperation with National Archive of the Republic of Belarus and Museum of the Great Patriotic War History as well as an art exhibition “Minsk Landscapes 1945–1976” by artist Anatoly Nalivaev.
At the event will be presented as well new books published by “Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia” publishing house: “The Person from the Legend” by Yuri Fomin, laureate of the contest “Art of a Book – 2009”, winner in nomination “Liberation”, and a book of collected works “Remember the Perished Heroes”.Both publications are dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi occupants.
