A republican seminar on luring investors and preserving historical and cultural treasures, as well as their role in economic growth, was held at the National Library on December 8th.
The event was attended by: Gennady Hodor, consultant of the Department for the Arrangement of Protection and Accounting of Historical and Cultural Values of the Directorate for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus; Irina Tyaglova, Head of the Main Department of Property Management of the State Property Committee of the Republic of Belarus; Alexander Odinets, Deputy Head of the Main Investment Policy Department–Head of the State Investment Promotion Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus; Tatiana Chizhik, Deputy Head of the Public–Private Partnership Center Department of the National Agency for Investment and Privatization; specialists in investments, experts in the organization of protection and accounting of historical and cultural values, employees of cultural institutions, ministries and departments.
New legislation on the use and preservation of tangible cultural and historical treasures, as well as the streamlining of the repair and restoration process and their evaluation in the execution of investment projects, were discussed during the meeting. The participants gave particular consideration to the implementation of the regional executive committees' and the Minsk City Executive Committee's plans for 2022–2025 on the inclusion of underutilised and unsatisfactory real estate's historical and cultural values in economic turnover, incentive mechanisms and investment methods, and the preparation of information and graphic materials for investment projects to inform potential investors.
